Bourke

Image
This week I ended up in Bourke on Wednesday. Took care of some jobs at Dubbo and Nyngan on the way and got home on Thursday afternoon having put in some big days. Fortunately for my 40 hour week I only have to work for 2½ hours on Friday before I knock off...

Our Farm

Image
Here's a nice panorama or our farm about 900km (560 mile) north of home. It's the family farm from when I was growing up, here's where it was taken from on the map, facing due west. Click on the image for a large copy of the image.

Off Roading

As I mentioned I like four wheel driving, and here's my Toy[ota] Hilux. It's a fairly standard 1982 tray back ute, with around 8" of lift, detroit locker diff, new bullbar (the one in the picture is now bent) and winch, 12½x33x15 Maxxis Bighorn tyres, and of course some recovery and survival gear. Around where I live there are heaps of places to test out the ability of 4x4s, and so far I've only got stuck once. The Bighorn tyres make a big difference, they don't fill up when it's muddy, and have heaps of gripping ability in all loose surfaces. The track in the picture is the Bridle Track , from Hill End to Bathurst. It's a nice drive with camping and fishing spots (don't forget your license), and has a few spots to test out the 4WDs running off it. Some of it isn't for the weak hearted, but most vehicles (even my company car) can pass through it ok. It's definately NOT for sports cars though.

Google Maps

I've just figured out how to link directly to Google maps, it's really easy. To track my trip tomorrow to Walgett from Home click here . Once you have the map you simply click "link to this page" and the long URL appear in the address bar. Here's My House !

You're not my first you know...

Now-a-days everyone has a blog. Who knows, some day this may help someone with a History assignment. I've long had my own blog at http://users.bigpond.com/kroey , but I think this one might be more permanent, seeing it's free and I don't have to keep paying for it. That's about it for now, in the morning (early) I'm off to Coonamble to take care of some faulty PCs, then Walgett, both in N.S.W. Australia.
